RE: 2.26.03
In this article, AOL gets criticized for its attempts to 'let' us download songs.
Why would I pay to sign up with AOL (yahoo amongst others are free) and register for their fee baed services when Kazaa is free, forever? Do they think I'll sign up or are they just hoping to capture their 27 million person captive audience?

They Say They're Ready
The music industry says they've settled on a plan to distribute music on-line for a low price. You can tell they're scared and scrambing though. Check out this qoute from the Times: "After Napster shut down, the music-sharing community reassembled like the cyborg in `Terminator,' " Mr. Glaser said. "It was much more rapid and much more organized than anyone expected."

PJ Harvey is just awesome.
I'm listening to her song, Sweeter Than Anything and it's as good as anything she's done. If you don't have songs from the city songs from the sea you need to get it.

Talkin' 'Bout a Good Time
Had a great time with Nicole and Trevor in Guelph on Saturday night. After a wonderful home-cooked Indian meal, we played some Trivial Pursuit then we headed to the pubs. After visiting Van Gogh's Ear for a minute we headed to the Trash. There was a cover charge there so we went next door to Jimmy Jam's. Are we ever glad we went. There was a great funk band called Diesel Dog* playing that was on fire all night. They were lively and friendly, playing some of their own tunes mixed in with some requests from the audience. Even though they said they weren't sure how to play Green Onions (when's the last time you heard that) they jammed their way though it and it sounded bang on. I'd have to say I have not danced that much in quite some time. I would definitely do it all again in a minute.

*This is a great looking website dedicated to jambands all across the country, Well worth checking out.
